CONSPIRACY THEORIES Conspiracy theories appear amongst the followers of most religious, anti-religious and political groups. While usually held by a very small number of those in the relevant group, there impact on the public mind can be quite large. A major negative effect of them is to spread non-existent or distorted ‘history’. It spreads like a virus in a computer network. On this page we plan to make available articles and names of books which attempt to answer some of these theories. Some of the theories oppose the Catholic Church or Christianity in general. Other theories are held by some Catholics concerning non-Catholic systems of belief. It should be noted that a high proportion of the leading ‘Catholic’ Conspiracy Theorists, have been excommunicated or suspended Catholic priests. Others have been disgruntled laymen. Their activities often distort to outsiders what Catholics truly believe and think. The Protocols of the elders of Sion } Articles by Sandra Miesel Fr.
